4Knots Music Festival This Weekend, Set Times & Map Now Available

Just a few short days away, the set times and official map for the 4Knots Music Festival have arrived (see below). Presented by the Village Voice, this year’s affair takes place in its original home in the Seaport District, and sports a line-up that includes Guided By Voices, The Strumbellas, Protomartyr, Car Seat Headrest and more.

With its killer line-up, riverside location, and chill vibes, 4Knots pretty much has a lock on winning New York City’s best free one-day summer music festival of 2016. This year’s all-ages event boasts three stages; Pier 16, Fulton, and a newly appointed, Monster Energy-fueled DJ stage, where you can let it all hang out between band sets. Your selectors at the DJ stage include Prince Rama, and Lemonade, as well as notable New York City music scene denizens Alisa Ali of WFUV, Jonathan Clark of Q104.3 and Little Water Radio DJs Keenan Duffty, Delphine Blue and Bill Pearis.

Celebrating its sixth year in 2016, 4Knots is a descendent of the Siren Music Festival (a.k.a. Sirenfest), a free festival that the Village Voice produced from 2001-2010 in Coney Island. Originally met with trepidation when it launched in 2011, 4Knots has really come into its own, hosting the likes of Mac DeMarco, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile & the Violators, Parquet Courts, Super Furry Animals, Stephen Malkmus, and Twin Peaks over the years.

In addition to the aforementioned Guided By Voices, The Strumbellas, Protomartyr, and Car Seat Headrest, this year’s lineup also includes Athen Georgia’s Mothers, Pro Era rapper/producer Kirk Knight, LA folk punk rockers Girlpool, Bayonne, psych project Diane Coffee, Promised Land Sound, Mild High Club, and Boulevards.

The fun gets underway, rain or shine, Saturday, July 9 at 1pm. For more information visit the 4Knots Music Festival website.
