Check out the Teaser for Adam Green’s Latest Project ‘Adam Green’s Aladdin’

Adam Green appears to be channelling Pee Wee’s Playhouse for Adam Green’s Aladdin. The musician, artist and filmmaker announced the cinematic project via Noisey this week with the release of a teaser trailer. It features a bang up cast, including Macaulay Culkin, Natasha Lyonne and famed artist Francesco Clemente, and a brand new soundtrack by Green. The film and soundtrack will be out in Spring 2016 and will coincide with a worldwide ‘Aladdin Tour’ by the artist. You can check out the teaser below.

Green plays Aladdin in his colorful, hyper-sensory, modern day version of the Classic Arabian Nights tale. In his rewriting, Aladdin is living with his dysfunctional family in a “regular” American town ruled by a corrupt Sultan with an indulgent socialite daughter.

“With Aladdin, I wanted to create a single and unified experience to showcase my music, art and writing,” said Adam Green. “When creating Aladdin, I approached the script like it was a song. It has been the creative journey of a lifetime, and I’m so excited to put this out!”

In addition to Culkin, Lyonne and Clemente, who plays the Genie, other members of the cast include Alia Shawkat, Har Mar Superstar, Devendra Barnhart, Bip Ling, Jack Dishel, and Zoe Kravitz. Also of note are the film’s sets, which are all handmade papier-mâché, with more than 500 props and 30 rooms constructed out of phone books, newspapers, glue, and house-paint.
