Amy Poehler and Tina Fey Are Girls Gone Wild in ‘Sisters’ Trailer

With five months to go until its release, Universal’s Sisters, which stars everyone’s favorite Golden Globes hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, has dropped its first official trailer. Fey and Poehler appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this evening for its big world premiereYou can check it out below.

The trailer certainly gives more plot points than the first look video that came out in January. Fey and Poehler play disconnected sisters who return home to find that their parents have sold the house they grew up in. Tasked with cleaning out their rooms, which look they have remained untouched for decades, the pair come up with the bright idea to throw a blowout party. It appears Poehler has recently gone through a divorce and needs to let loose. Or, as she says, “let my freak flag fly.” From the trailer, Sisters looks like a cross between Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion and A Good Old Fashioned OrgyWe’re curious to see how it fares against Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which releases the same day (December 18).

Directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) from a script by Paula Pell (TV’s Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock), the film also features Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, John Cena, Maya Rudolph, John Leguizamo, and Ike Barinholtz. It’s produced by Jay Roach, Tina Fey and John Lyons, and executive produced by Amy Poehler, Jeff Richmond and Brian Bell. The film has scored an R rating for “crude sexual content and language throughout, and for drug use.” Party on.
