It’s like “Wow”. In advance of Beck’s performances this weekend at Governors Ball and Mountain Jam, the Grammy-winning artist has shared a single off his upcoming as-of-yet untitled new album due out this fall. The single, which is simply called “Wow”, is a fun and folky hip-hop track. You can watch the lyric video for the tune below.

Beck teased the track was on the way via his Instagram account on Wednesday with a short Giddy Up clip. Hours later creators and artists that Beck had enlisted from around the Instagram community started sharing their own interpretations of “Wow”. Each made a video using an exclusive clip of the song. Those videos, can be found on Beck.com. Among the contributors are Joel Strong aka mydaywithleo, Coral Morphologic, and Skellington of color.

With “Wow”, Beck appears to want people to wake up. With lyrics like “It’s my life, your life, live it once, can’t live it twice,” and “Live everyday like it’s just about to end” is Beck trying to send us messages about mortality, global warming, something else…?

The new track is produced by Greg Kurstin, who was part of Beck’s live band circa the Sea Change days. The eye catching lyrical video for “Wow” is directed by London-based graphic artist Jimmy Turrell.

“Wow” is available now via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and Google Play.

After Governors Ball and Mountain Jam, Beck is heading out on a worldwide tour (see dates below). His new album is due out October 21 on Capitol Records. It will be available for pre-order starting September 9.
