Capsule Film Review: The Art of FLIGHT

“Sick” is probably the best word to describe the trailer for this epic snowboarding documentary. Produced by Red Bull Media House, The Art of FLIGHT follows Travis Rice, the legendary professional snowboarder often referred to as the Paul Revere of the big mountain freestyle movement, on a two-year, powder-filled, boundary-leaping expedition. Rice and his adrenaline-seeking tricksters, including John J, Mark “Lando” Landvik, Olympic medalist Scotty Lago, DCP, and Jeremy Jones, travel to exotic, untouched mountain zones in Alaska’s Tordillo Range, British Columbia’s Revelstoke, Chilean Patagonia’s Darwin Range, and the Andes, to practice their eggplants and double flips as well as try out a few new maneuvers. Helmed by Brain Farm founder and digital action-sports film visionary Curt Morgan, The Art of FLIGHT, which is available on DVD, has a sparkling not-to-be-missed 3D edition.
