‘Eric Andre Does Paris’ Special Premiering on Adult Swim in February

After months of speculation, there is finally something concrete to report on the Eric Andre front. It appears that Eric was filming a little something for Adult Swim last spring when he was in Paris. Today, the network announced that an Eric Andre special entitled Eric Andre Does Paris will premiere on Sunday, February 18 at 12:15am ET/PT. Created by Eric and directed by his longtime collaborator Kitao Sakurai, the show finds Eric hitting the streets of Paris, France “to ponder existential questions with French people.” We already know that some of the wardrobe used during the shoot was inspired by Alejandro Jodorowsky’s The Holy Mountain.

We aren’t sure if this is related to the Eric Andre Does Paris special, but the comedian was also snapped in Atlanta in December when he attended a film wrap party. Whatever was being worked on was directed by Kitao Sakurai and filmed by Andrew Laboy, who served as a camera operator on Season 3 of The Eric Andre Show.

On another note, a series Kitao directed and co-wrote recently had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2018. Entitled The Passage, the series is a globe-trotting misadventure about a mute named Phil who is on the run from a pagan cult. It stars Philip Burgers and is executive produced by Kitao and Philip, along with Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim and Dave Kneebone.

As for the Eric fans out there, be sure to tune into Adult Swim on Sunday, February 18 at 12:15am ET/PT to see what kind of trouble the comedian gets himself into in Paris. And, if you need something to hold you over until the special’s premiere, the network is currently airing old episodes of The Eric Andre Show nightly at 1am.
