Musicians Jimmy Cliff & Jason Isbell Help Close Out ‘Squidbillies’ Season 10

It looks like Squidbillies Season 10 will end on a musical high note this Sunday. The episode sees Jamaican music legend Jimmy Cliff giving the Squidbillies theme song a reggae makeover, and Jason Isbell stepping in to play the town’s new pastor. Check below for Cliff’s rendition of the opening song, as well as a clip featuring Isbell.

The tenth season of Squidbillies has been quite a ride for the Cuylver family, a clan of Squids who live in rural Georgia. They discovered their ancestors were slaves and found out that cephalo-ectomies do not work. The season also saw a diverse group of musicians joining in. In addition to Cliff, Season 10 found Father John Misty, Kurt Vile, The B-52s, Sharon Van Etten, and Rebecca Schiffman coming up with distinctive covers of the show’s theme song.

As for Isbell, this is not the first time he’s been involved with the series. With the help of the 400 Unit, he did a cover of the theme song for Season 7.

The Squidbillies Season 10 finale airs on Sunday, August 21 at 11:30pm ET/PT on Adult Swim.
