Battles, Protomartyr Playing House of Vans Brain Dead Party (RSVP), Vans House Parties 2017 Continue

Vans knows how to keep the party going. On Tuesday, the action sports brand celebrates the launch of a new collaboration with creative collective Brain Dead by throwing a proper soiree at House of Vans in Brooklyn. The free festivities include performances by experimental rock trio Battles and Detroit post-punk group Protomartyr, and drinks by Goose Island Beer Company. You can get in on the all ages debauchery by RSVPing here and showing up early.

Earlier this year, Hypebeast interviewed Brain Dead co-founder Kyle Ng about the collaboration with Vans. It appears Vans approached them about coming up with something for the Vault by Vans collection. Kyle also shared that the theme for the line is sex and buttholes. We’ll have to wait until Tuesday to see how that plays out.

In addition to this shindig, Vans has a few other events up their sleeve. In conjunction with FYF, the Vans House Parties series is back for 2017. This year, they expanded the fun beyond Brooklyn to include events in Chicago. So far, they’ve hosted parties featuring Digable Planets, Beach Fossils, Drums and Denzel Curry. Coming up in Chicago are shows with The Lawrence Arms, Dillinger Four, The Internet, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Cap’n Jazz and Hop Along. Find out more about those here.

As for Brooklyn, the Vans House Parties continue on July 12 with Aussie rockers Royal Headache, Sheer Mag and Downtown Boys. The RSVP for this show opens on June 26. The last party in the Brooklyn series is with The Descendents on August 3. RSVP opens July 25.

But that’s not all, Vans is also in cahoots with Rooftop Films. On Wednesday, June 21, House of Vans in Brooklyn is hosting a free screening of Ana Lily Amirpour’s dystopian sure-to-be-cult-classic love story The Bad Batch. The evening includes a pre-screening DJ set by auxcordboys, Q&A with Ana Lily Amirpour and star Suki Waterhouse, and after party sponsored by Goose Island and Tanqueray with a DJ set by Neon Indian. The screening is currently sold out, but you can score tickets if you become a Rooftop Films member. For more details go here. The Bad Batch will be released in theaters June 23 via NEON.

The Bad Batch is the second screening Vans has worked with Rooftop Films on. In May, House of Vans hosted a free screening of Zoe Lister-Jones’ Band Aid.
