Adam Green is hyped up on Hanukkah. The former The Moldy Peaches’ co-star contributed a song to Hanukkah+, a star-studded compilation of music themed around the Jewish festival of lights (read more about it here). And now, Green has shared a spirited video for his song, “Dreidels of Fire.” Check it out below.

“Dreidels of Fire” is part holiday history lesson and part love song. It finds Green’s clever lyrics set against a catchy pop-baroque tune. On the recording, Green is backed by Michael Cummings (guitar, bass) and Noah Rubin (drums) of SKATERS, along with Jesse Kotansky on violin.

The video for Green’s Hanukkah song was shot at a gig in Germany of all places—the Stage Club in Hamburg, to be exact. Which maybe isn’t so strange, as the dreidel game is believed to be a Judaicized version of an old German gambling game. We see Green riling up the crowd with his enthusiasm and lovable dance moves. The video was shot by Jackie Cohen and Nikolas Lange and edited by Pete Voelker.

Green has been out touring Europe to support his latest record, Engine of Paradise. He recently announced a string of North American dates and will return to Europe in April. You can find his plans below.
