It appears Dan Deacon’s wildest dreams have come true. The Baltimore-based musician has been invited to open for Miley Cyrus on her upcoming limited-run Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz tour with the Flaming Lips.

When asked about the invite, Deacon offered this statement:

“I felt like I was in the ‘Phantom Tollbooth’ when the offer to open the Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz tour came in, but I have a pretty weird life and tend to end up in really bizarre situations that I never in a million years would have pictured. I think its safe to say without any doubt that the experience of touring with Miley and The Flaming Lips. It will be one of the most reality curving events of my career thus far. Mostly I’m really looking forward to introducing my music and performance to her fans and to watch this show unfold each night.”

Deacon, who has toured extensively as a headliner, also had the privilege of opening for Arcade Fire in 2014 for the North American portion of their Reflektor Tour. Deacon who came up by inciting crazy dance parties at small and DIY venues, has also toured with the likes of Animal Collective and Future Islands, among others.

The shows with Cyrus tuck into other headlining dates Deacon has planned in support of his latest record Gliss Riffer. His fourth studio album, Gliss Riffer was released by Domino earlier this year.
