Do you dig Daft Punk? Does the term “French touch” mean something to you? If so, then do we have a movie for you. Eden, which opens this weekend, is a semi-biographic drama that explores the French house music scene in the ‘90s. Directed by Mia Hansen-Løve (Goodbye First Love), the delicately observed epic spans two decades and follows the story of an aspiring DJ named Paul played by the very easy-on-the-eyes Félix De Givry. From the raves to the club nights to even a visit to MoMA PS1’s Warm Up series, the film captures the essence of being a slave to those tantalizing beats. Daft Punk even sort of makes an appearance. The duo are played by actors Vincent Lacoste and Arnaud Azoulay. Also popping up in the film are a couple of American actors, Greta Gerwig, who plays a love interest, and Brady Corbet.

The film of course has an amazing soundtrack. It features The Orb, Daft Punk, Martin Solveig, Frankie Knuckles and more. It’s out now via Hamburger Records and can be purchased at iTunes and Amazon.
