Jarvis Cocker Shares Video for Jason’s JACK IS… Remix of JARV IS… “House Music All Night Long” (Watch)

In an alternate Covid-19-free universe, Jarvis Cocker fans would be spending today euphorically swaying to Beyond the Pale, the debut album of the Pulp frontman’s new project JARV IS…. Instead, we’re locked in our homes, wondering what our social distancing futures hold and looking forward to the record’s new release date of September 4 (pre-order). As a stopgap, Jarvis shared a video for the Jason’s JACK IS… remix of “House Music All Night Long.” You can dance along to it below. It’s a trippier, synesthetic version of the video released for “House Music All Night Long,” which we’ve also included.

Jarvis gifted the world “House Music All Night Long” in early March before being in lockdown was a thing. It’s eerie, but the song is almost an anthem for our current predicament with opening lyrics: “Lost in the night of the living room/Adrift in the world of interiors/It’s serious.” “House Music All Night Long” is the second single from Beyond the Pale following the May 2019-released “Must I Evolve?”

As for the remix, it doesn’t appear on LP. Rather, it is the b-side of the “House Music All Night Long” 12″ single that’s out now on Rough Trade. The alternative version has a more pronounced beat and is the handiwork of JARV IS… band member Jason Buckle. Jason’s Place du Big Boss studio did the post-production on Beyond the Pale.

The new visual is a remix of the Jarvis silhouette-filled “House Music All Night Long” video. You’ll find colorful abstractions created by Jezus Cinco, Drumasaurusrex, and CANADA have replaced the images of appliances and home interiors seen in the original.

Jarvis will be back on IG Live Saturday night with another edition of his coronavirus lockdown dance party, Domestic Disco. Also, be sure you check out Jarvis and Chilly Gonzales’ full performance of Room 29 at the ARTE Concert Festival in 2017. It’s only up through June 26, 2020.
