After a two year hiatus, Wilco is coming out of the gate strong. The band has shared a robust tour schedule. It kicks off tonight in Knoxville, TN, includes a short jaunt to Europe, followed by Solid Sound, then another trip to Europe in September chased with a string of U.S. dates taking them through the end of October. The group then head to Mexico for Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky. All dates are below. Tickets for the U.S. leg go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 7.

With an extensive tour usually comes new music, however, we haven’t heard a peep about production on a new album. But, we do know how Wilco likes surprises. The last LP the group released was Schmilco in 2016. We did get that one-off in 2017 to benefit the SPLC, but they seem to be due. Obviously, they have enough of a back catalog that they don’t need to release new music to tour. However, it’s out of character for such a prolific group of musicians to not have something up their sleeves. The tour date announcement promised that more Wilco news will be shared in the coming weeks. We’re waiting patiently.

As for a stop in New York, the band plays Radio City Music Hall on October 12. The last time they played there was in 2004 after the release of A Ghost is Born.

Also of note, Wilco’s Karaoke Contest is still accepting entries. And, Jeff Tweedy is doing a free show at Damrosch Park in New York on July 26 as part of Lincoln Center Out of Doors.

As mentioned above, tickets for the upcoming US leg go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 7 at 10am local time. But, Wilco isn’t one to leave their devoted fans high and dry.
