Jeff Bridges, Kevin Morby, Kacey Musgraves, Angel Olsen & More Play Willie Nelson 420 Concert, ‘Come and Toke It’

The coronavirus might have rained on Luck Reunion’s parade, but the folks behind the annual Willie Nelson-hosted anti-festival have been busy turning lemons into lemonade. The group’s latest brainstorm, Come and Toke It, is a virtual variety concert celebrating Nelson’s favorite holiday, 4/20. Featuring a stacked lineup that includes Jeff Bridges, Kevin Smith, Kacey Musgraves, Kevin Morby, Angel Olsen, and many more, the free tip-only 420 event supports The Last Prisoner Project, a nonprofit coalition dedicated to bringing restorative justice to the cannabis industry. The pro-pot festivities will be streamed live on Twitch and Facebook. Plus, if you play your cards right, you might be able to exchange a smoke with Nelson. Read on for more details.

Following the cancellation of the 2020 edition of Luck Reunion, the organizers put together an online replacement, ‘Til Further Notice. The daylong event, hosted by Ray Benson, streamed live on March 19 and featured performances by Lucinda Williams, Kurt Vile, Lucius and Courtney Barnett, Paul Simon and Edie Brickell, Orville Peck, Willie Nelson and more.

Building off ‘Til Further Notice’s warm reception, the Luck crew added two weekly Livestream events to their stable, Hello Walls and Prime Cuts. Hello Walls is a music discovery-focused series Luck presents on Sundays at 9pm ET/8pm CT/6pm PT in association with Amazon Music. Prime Cuts is a free live cook-along series that benefits the Austin Food and Wine Alliance. Each week a host chef presents a make-at-home recipe and answers questions. The episodes, which premiere Fridays at 7pm ET/6pm CT/4pm PT, also feature guest chefs and mixologists and a live music performance.

As for Come and Toke It, Nelson hosts the homage to weed that brings together artists, chefs, comedians, educators, and more (see lineup below) for 4 hours and 20 minutes of cannabis-fueled fun that you can enjoy from the comfort of your sofa. The fest kicks off today (April 20, 2020) at 5:20pm ET/4:20pm CT/2:40pm PT. You can tune in via Luck’s Twitch channel or Facebook page.

Besides the 420 entertainment, Luck and Willie’s Reserve (Nelson’s cannabis company) have teamed up for the #cometokeit #passleft challenge. Fans are welcome to post videos of themselves on social media, passing the toke material of their choice to the left with the hashtags #ComeandTokeIt #PassLeft. According to the Luck website: Select videos will be featured during the Come and Toke It broadcast before Willie takes the last hit on air. To be considered, get those videos in pronto.
