Hold on to Your Ranch, Eric Andre Taped a Netflix Comedy Special

The deed is done. Eric Andre finally recorded the Netflix comedy special he’s been promising. Filmed live during his Legalize Everything tour, the special will probably not be premiering on the streamer this year. We continue to keep an ear out.

Eric Andre Netflix Comedy Special

One of Eric Andre’s hiding places.

After crisscrossing North America this fall on his stand-up comedy tour, Eric selected Republic NOLA, a 650-seat venue in New Orleans’ historic Warehouse District, for the taping, which took place on November 21, 2019. In typical Eric fashion, the comedian pulled out all the stops to generate excitement for the big event. He caused a stir on Bourbon Street and designed a makeshift scavenger hunt for free tickets. He hid envelopes around the city and posted photos on Instagram of where fans could find them.

As far as what’s in the special, if you went to any of the shows on the Legalize Everything tour, then you have a good idea of what to expect. Without giving too much away, his hilarious set tackles a range of subjects from pop culture to politics. He throws in some crowd work and hosts an epic Ranch Challenge. That’s all we’ll say for now.

The comedian’s Netflix special is a project of Mike Rosenstein’s production company Sunset Rose Pictures, produced with A24.

Eric, with DJ Douggpound in tow, just wrapped up the sold-out Australia/New Zealand leg of his tour. Coming up, besides the Netflix comedy special, we have The Eric Andre Show Season 5, Bad Trip, and Quibi’s Rapper Warrior Ninja to look forward to in 2020.
